In Episode 2 Dooku established that knowledge of the Force and skill with a lightsaber are two separate things. Which also explains how Obi-Wan was able to defeat Maul after being beaten himself. Maul could not predict what his opponent would do.
I think Snake-Eyes has enough "zen" to be able to sense when Maul calls up his force powers, then the skill to dodge the lightsaber to get inside Maul's swing and deliver a deadly strike.
Then those other guys break down in tears.
You have killed my friend and young apprentice, but not before he was able to stab the red ninja with one of the naganata. He was a young man and did not deserve to die so soon. Now, prepare to face the wrath of Snake Eyes!!! }
