What does your Church use?

Postby RevSears on Fri Mar 13, 2009 5:12 am

just out of curiosity? Contemporary? old time hymns? instruments or occapella (SP?)

My home church has a country twang to it w/ two guitars a bass and a piano and as many singers that are willing.

Currently im' got a church that is mainly contempory even throwing in covers of classic rock songs "ex you gotta serve somebody" and blues !

A blend of old and new. Our music minister said that it is truly hard to find common ground. We will play contemporary hymns (old words, new music) in hopes that the new style will reach the younger crowd, and the old familiar words of the hymn will reach the older crowd. Unfortunately, the older crowd doesn't see them as their old hymns because the music is too different.

Our sunday night is all contemporary though, and our wednesday night is all traditional.
