Round 5: April 7-May 12

We want to seek God with our whole hearts, bodies, and souls, so we're going to seek Him 6 weeks at a time.

Day 16, April 21

Read James 1
Read Every Man's Marriage
15 pushups
30 crunches
10 situps

Day 17, April 22

Read James 1 again

God is revealing to me that I need to quit worrying about not sinning, and pursue Him more. By pursuing oneness with Him, I will turn from my sins. I read James 1 two nights in a row, and probably will read it again. Here is the verse that is sticking with me

    James 1:5-7
5If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. 6But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; 8he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does.
If I can't truly commit to trusting God, the doubt will make me unstable in all that I do.

Day 19, April 24
didn't do anything. too tired.
Now, I must get back on track. Missing one day is one thing, but multiple days really expands the gap between me and God

Days 20, 21, & 22, April 25, 26, & 27

wow. What a difference not praying or reading the Word 4 days in a row will do. It's horrible. But the awesome thing is that I can totally pinpoint the correlation of how I feel and where I am to how much time I spend seeking the Lord.

I'm hoping to get back on track today.

Do you ever wonder if you focus too much on the negative? Things will never be perfect, but the Lord has blessed you with so much.

It is almost like an eclipse. The Moon is 1/4 the size of the Earth, and the Sun is 100x the size of the Earth, yet, by God's awesome glory, the Moon can pass between the Sun and the Earth and block out the Son's, I mean Sun's, glory.

Remember, the Moon may affect our tides, but it does not give us life.

touché my brother, touché. I think that is a major obstacle for me. Really focusing on the negative and not God. It's a tough thing to get through

Ooh, it's been 6 days. Not really going very well, but I'm trying not to dwell on the negative. Here it is

Days 26-31, May 1-6

I think I read James 5 and a couple chapters of Every Man's Marriage.

Really trying to do things on my own again. Not taking things to God, especially temptations. James has rocked my face off once again, and is becoming clearly my favorite book it the Bible. I think it would be easier to highlight things I don't love than to highlight all the things I do love. I really wish it was longer. I think I'm going to read through James in "The Message" next.

Anyway, it is really becoming clearer to me how my relationship with God is in perfect coordination with my obedience to prayer and the Word.

Man, being off work makes it hard to keep up.

Here is where I am currently
Days 32-36, May 7-11
Read a couple of chapter's of Every Man's Marriage
Read James 1-3 in the Message

Things are looking up. Still trying to focus on obedience right now. The Lord is being good to me and really showing me a lot right now. I haven't been doing any physical stuff, so I definitely know where Round 6 is going to go.

Ugh, I've been very lazy

Days 37-42, May 12-17
nothing

Well, Round 5 is over. Overall, I feel like it was a success. I do feel closer to God, but I have slacked quite a bit. I feel that God has given me a great building block, so I think Round 6 will be a continuation of Round 5
Here are my results
Didn't finish Every Man's Marriage
Not very much Spiritual Leader stuff
Quit working out a few weeks back

Although on paper it feels like a failure, I don't feel that way. I have been very disobedient as of late, so that is the thing that I need to work on more than anything.
